Here at Yes, You Can Dance! EVERY month is Volunteer Appreciation Month. Therefore each month we will be spotlighting one of our wonderful volunteers (as well as one of our wonderful students).

Meet Holly, pictured with her Special Needs Ballroom Performance Team dance partner, Bobby at a Salsa Fuego Performance! Originally from New Jersey, Holly came to Pittsburgh to attend Point Park University as a dance major. She performed with the New Jersey dance Theatre Guild, as well as The Kasamon Ballet at the Pittsburgh Playhouse in Oakland. Holly also danced in many Nutcracker performances with her children in a local company. Holly has ran her own Petsitting Business for 22 years! She has had Steeler alumni and Pittsburgh Penguin Hockey players as customers, which makes the job even more fun for her! Holly also works as a Personal assistant for a doctor and his wife who has MS.

Roughly 3 years ago, Holly saw that Yes, You Can Dance! was looking for Volunteer Dance Mentors and she jumped at the chance. The rest is history, as Holly has been a very active and dedicated volunteer ever since! In response to her mentoring, Holly states, “What a wonderful thing it is to combine dance, and helping others! Volunteering for this program has brought so much joy into my life, as well as help me through some very tough times. It is healing as well as joyful!”
Thank you Holly for making our Art of Performance and Special Needs Ballroom classes a reality through your dedicated volunteer-ship.
