Asbury Heights Senior Center has been having so much fun at our last 2 dance events at their center that the senior residents requested a special themed dance event for last week’s Senior Dance Social: a Hoedown! Yes, You Can Dance! staff and volunteer Dance Assistants had a blast performing the Boot Scootin’ Boogie, the 10 step, and the Tush Push for the residents. But the fun didn’t end there… Chris Roth taught the Boot Scootin’ Boogie to Senior Guests and offered modified versions for those who preferred not to leave their seats. At the end of the Hoedown, Yes, You Can Dance! and Asbury staff even brought many of the residents who are wheelchair users onto the floor for a wheelchair line dance. Maybe not everyone got up to the dance floor, but everyone did participate through their laughter, smiles, clapping, and cheers. Yeehaw, it was a great afternoon!
